Monitoring of pipelines
Petrol and gas pipelines are the transportation systems of liquid and gas in a very short term and efficient way. Usually pipelines for the sake of its safety from different climatic, anthropological factors and for providing safety deepens in digging procedure, however while digging deeper there is no chance to escape damages that occur in the result of geological factors, like landslides. Any displacement of the ground near pipeline causes tension which can lead to damages or to unacceptable expansion. Because of this factor diagnostic monitoring system was created, which is capable to measure and control parameters of great importance in scope with pipeline and environment safety..
Monitoring of pipelines mostly includes two types of control:
Monitoring of tension from the pipeline. As it is used to be, extensometers are installed to pipelines with electrical gauge or vibrating wire, which can detect automatically if there is any tension in a pipeline and even in remote control. Besides, instruments are equipped with thermometer resistor for providing heat correlation. Usually extensometers are fixed to the steel surface of pipeline and consist of 3 gauges, which are installed under 120° to each other. Instruments must be set in the way to detect the tension on the main fields.
Monitoring of fields nearby the pipelines. The areas close to pipelines, usually are controlled with the help of the following instruments:
